Hey there, Legendlorriors,

Yep, just made that up. I think it's like Lore Warriors. Lorriors.

I know many of you are celebrating family feats or planning zoom chats or even just naps, but I wanted to sneak in this month end update over before we get too far into this weekend. Mostly to keep consistent with our update schedule, but also because we've got a neat new 5E-related kickstarter campaign on the go.

First up, let's see where we are. It's still early in the process, but good to keep our list up to date so that we're all on the same page.

Excellent news! Our stretch goal-launched companion, Legacies of Earth, is now being reviewed for approval and further editing and development by all parties! Because this is a licensed product, it's important to have even more scrutiny applied during this phase, to keep it consistent with the goals of the owners and IP managers.

I will continue to post our list of delivered and pending rewards with each monthly update, so that we can track everything that's needed and keep on the same page. Also, feel free to check out Onyx Path's Monday Meeting Notes posts (linked here) which will give you a weekly status report on ALL of the projects Onyx Path has on the go.

Speaking of which, one of the things listed on our rewards is an Add On option from our campaign (and still available via BackerKit, if you want to update your reward list, which you can do right up until we ship the hardcover book!). The Scarred Lands is Onyx Path's own 5E Campaign setting, built on 20 years of releases across a few editions of material.

Since our LegendLore campaign ran, they've released the Scarred Lands Creature Collection, a whole book full of new threats and wondrous creatures that can be added to any 5E fantasy game.

And following up on that, we've just launched a new Kickstarter campaign for the a massive campaign-length adventure set in the Scarred Lands called Dead Man's Rust.

At the Night of Chronicles in the city of Leoni, the adventurers enjoy a wild revel. Opportunity arises when the aging bard Dradoki Bronzeleaf hires the party to escort him to the Broadreach Horizon. The perilous voyage takes the group through titanspawn infested lands, but should they survive, they arrive at the last bastion of uncorrupted wood in the Hornsaw Forest. There they meet the clans of the Broadreach elves and a century of hollow legionnaires dispatched to the Forest of Blood to offer aid and friendship.

But a dark shadow looms over the accursed wood. The necromancers of Glivid-Autel sew corruption and death throughout the Hornsaw Forest. Legionnaires, elves, and dwarves go missing. A horrific infection appears, seemingly targeting the legionnaires. The adventurers are called on to stand against these foul machinations that threaten peace, prosperity, and life itself across central Ghelspad. They may find allies in the Broadreach Horizon, the Gleaming Valley, and perhaps even the bloody canopies of the Hornsaw Forest, if they are brave enough to answer the call to adventure!

Dead Man’s Rust contains:

• A complete campaign taking characters from level 1 to 10
• Detailed write-ups of four major locations in central Ghelspad: the Broadreach Horizon, The Gleaming Valley, the Hornsaw Forest, and the necromancer’s stronghold of Glivid-Autel.
• New playable options including races, subraces, and subclasses
• New monsters, magic items, and more!

Like we've done with many of the Onyx Path kickstarter campaigns over the past few years, we'll be previewing the ENTIRE manuscript over the course of the campaign, so if you jump on you'll be able to read every word of the manuscript before the campaign concludes in a month!

The end of the calendar is in sight, which means it's time for our regular month end update. As I noted last time, near the end of each month I will be sending out an update, with status notes on our main project as well as the Stretch Goal project we added. As noted in previous updates, these projects take a long time to put together. You've seen the manuscript preview PDF, but there are still many moving pieces and puzzles to solve in turning this into an awesome book. As a Hero, a Scion becomes a figure of myth and story, an exemplar of some virtue of their chosen society or the culture they’re born into. Even before their Visitation, the children of the Gods are a breed apart. But some want more than this lesser form of immortality, forever in the shadow of their parents. The golden ichor within the Scion’s heart sears and cooks them, ever burning away any human frailties of the Scion and driving them toward more audacious Deeds. They seek to become truly transformational figures, leaving The World forever different in their wake. At the fifth dot of Legend, it all reaches a tipping point, where the Scion is formed more of divine ichor than mortal flesh —more immortal than mortal, a true Demigod. They have declared to The World that they will not be pawns of Fate, but players in their own right. They will succeed in becoming a God, or they will die with their failure.

Everything up to this point was your prologue. Now it’s time to live your myth.

Scion: Demigod continues the path set down by Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero, expanding Scion Second Edition’s power level and charting the next level of power tiers for the Scions of the Gods. Players will take their characters through a tightly designed yet flexible story arc that ends in apotheosis or death – either way, the character will no longer be mortal after this book. Your characters don’t have to follow every Milestone with their Deeds — but they cannot run from their destiny once they’ve chosen to embrace it.

Digital Reward Distribution - Graphic Novels PDFs and Scarred Lands PDF Going Out This Week!

Hello Good Friends,

It's been about 10 days since we launched out BackerKit Post-Campaign Pledge Manager, and most of you have visited, set up your Add On rewards, and confirmed your reward selections. With that information, I've been able to set up and start allocation on some of our Add On rewards (i.e., the Legendlore - The Realm Chronicles Graphic Novel PDFs and the Scarred Lands Player's Guide PDF). 

DIGITAL REWARD DISTRIBUTION

Many of the rewards for our kickstarter projects take a lot of time and effort to complete. Usually, the kickstarter is a means of moving the project from an idea (even when it's a mostly-fully-written idea) into the actual channel that turns it into a project/product. It'll be a while before we're ready to talk about delivery onthe Legendlore RPG, and even longer for Brought from the Earth, our Legendlore companion PDF generated via Stretch Goal.

That said, there are a few rewards that are available now, as they were add-on PDFs of existing products. And now, we can work on getting those out to you during the week.

Your link to claim these digital rewards will be sent out by our BackerKit pledge manager over the next week. Since we are using our partners at DriveThruRPG and DriveThruComics as the hosts for these, you will need to set up a DriveThru account if you don't have one already.
